Set of 2 uprated suspension drop links for the mk1 Toyota mr2 AW11. These are the longer set intended for the front.

idea for the drop links came when I got a whiteline adjustable anti roll bar. It has 3 stiffness position settings where you move the link to a different hole on the bar to set the stiffness. Since then I’ve also changed to coil overs and they still work.

The aim of setting the arb position should be to get it as close to level horizontal as possible. With the stock drop link this just wasn’t possible.

On a previous car I’d also managed to bend an arb drop link through some “enthusiastic” driving because the stock ones are very thin and modern car parts are made of cheese.

There are adjustable drop links available for the AW11 but I thought I could do better.

The aims were as following:

Must be adjustable to keep the arb as close to level as possible even in adjusted positions. The adjustment should be possible in situ.

Must be stronger than the originals, to improve the driving experience and not to be out-weighed by a thick aftermarket arb.

Must install on stock mounting points without modification.

Must be a quality item.

So the parts:

Centre section is powder coated steel for corrosion protection. One end is right hand thread, the other is left hand thread so it can be adjusted when installed via the spanner flat in the centre.

The rose joins on the ends are bronze lined bearings, they’ll move with the car but should transmit plenty of feel. They have lock nuts so once in position they can be locked in.

The shoulder bolts are high tensile steel, the machined fit between the flat section of the bolt and the rose joint bearing is close and doesn’t allow for any shake or vibration, and enforces it’s loads on the flat, rather than on the thread.

Parts are supplied adjusted to roughly the same length as stock parts but nothing is tight, once installed, make sure you lock in and tighten all parts (but don't over-tighten).

And that’s about it, I hope you put them on and they improve your ride
